Stable Life’s Classroom Guide Grades 6-12 has been developed by the Youth Education Program of the San Francisco Film Society.
The SFFS Youth Education Program develops all its classroom materials in alignment with California educational standards for media literacy. This study guide is intended to support in preparing for and following up on a class screening of Stable Life. Support materials are designed to facilitate group discussion, individual and collaborative creative exercise, subject-based learning and access to resources for further investigation of material. We encourage educators to adapt and abridge the content to meet their unique learning objectives and circumstances.
Key concepts of the study guide include: The American Dream, Cultural Identity, Education and Social Mobility, Family, Horse Racing, Immigration, Undocumented Immigrants, US/Mexico Border, Workers’ Rights.
